Widely regarded as one of Canada's leading conservative voices, and one of Canada’s few Jewish conservative voices, Joseph Ben-Ami is a writer, political activist and podcaster. He is a respected and entertaining television and radio commentator and public speaker. offering insights on culture, politics and current affairs.

A policy aid to Stephen Harper, Canada's 22nd Prime Minister and Stockwell Day, Harper's predecessor as Conservative Party Leader, Joseph is also a former naval officer with extensive experience in strategic planning and communications in both the private sector and the political arena.

From 2008 to 2014 Joseph was President of the Arthur Meighen Institute for Public Affairs, a conservative-oriented think-tank. Prior to joining the Meighen Institute, he was Executive Director of the Institute for Canadian Values, and before that, Director of Government Relations and Diplomatic Affairs for the well-known Jewish human rights and advocacy group B'nai Brith.

Joseph has served on numerous organizational boards, including the international advisory board of Jews against Anti-Christian Defamation, and has served as a consultant speechwriter for several senior executives and public officials. He was National Director of the Brad Trost Leadership Campaign for the Conservative Party of Canada in 2017 and Operations Director for Shelly Glover’s campaign to lead Manitoba’s conservative party in 2021 and continues to provide organizational, communications and fundraising support to various political and advocacy groups and campaigns.
